1. Who we are

BrainBuddy (“we”, “us”, or “our”) is a routine-helper app built for neurodivergent children and their families. We are committed to protecting your privacy, especially the privacy of children under the age of 13.

2. What information we collect

We collect only the information needed to provide the BrainBuddy experience:

• Parent account details (email address and authentication information) to secure the family account.
• Child profile information created by the parent, such as a display name, chosen avatar emoji, theme preference, and optional pre-reader or mentor settings.
• Routine and quest data created by the parent, including micro-steps, energy check-ins, and progress markers.
• Optional proof-of-completion photos taken by the child during a quest, which are stored securely and only viewable by the signed-in parent.

3. How we use information

We use the information we collect to:

• Display the correct child profile and daily routines.
• Track quest progress and reward energy orbs.
• Enable the parent dashboard and security audit log.
• Improve app stability and fix bugs.

We do not sell, rent, or trade personal data (including children's data) to third-party advertising networks.

4. Children's privacy and COPPA

BrainBuddy complies with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without verifiable parental consent. The parent account is required to create any child profile, and the parent controls all data associated with it.

We do not track, collect, or store precise geographic location data from the child's device.

5. Parental rights and data control

Parents have ultimate control over their family's account and can request the deletion of all profile data and saved routines at any time. To exercise this right, sign in to the Parent Portal and remove child profiles and quests, or contact us directly at the email below.

6. Third-party services

We use a small number of trusted service providers to run BrainBuddy, including our cloud backend, authentication, and (for optional subscriptions) Google Play Billing through RevenueCat. These providers only process data on our behalf and are bound by strict confidentiality and security obligations.

7. Data security

We use industry-standard encryption, row-level access controls, and audit logging to keep your family's data safe. Proof photos are stored in a private bucket and can only be accessed by the signed-in parent who owns the account.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the effective date at the top of the page and notify parents through the app or the email associated with the account.
